We’re excited to announce the recent opening of Kern County’s new Youth Psychiatric Health Facility (PFH) operated by Central Star Behavioral Health. Central Star and Kern County have taken a step to address rates of self-harm, anxiety, depression, and suicide among local children and adolescents ages 5 to 17 by opening a brand new 16-bed PHF in Bakersfield.
The 24-hour facility Youth PHF serves children and youth in need of 24-hour therapeutic and rehabilitative treatment. Services include counseling, psychiatry, and medication support. Referrals come through crisis continuums or hospitals.
The Youth PHF is operated by Central Star Behavioral Health and is a collaboration with Kern County Department of Behavioral Health & Recovery Services.
