For the second fall in a row, Star View Children & Family Services has partnered with the Watts Empowerment Center to sponsor Socktober. Star View TEAMMATES’ Princess Murray produced a short video highlighting the importance of a new pair of socks for someone who is homeless. Despite Los Angeles being known for its warm weather, temperatures drop at night and during the winter months—so a pair of socks to keep your feet warm is crucial.
Last year, our Southern California programs and corporate office donated a total of 1,610 pairs of socks to distribute to the homeless on Skid Row. We hope to exceed that total each year moving forward!
